White asparagus is in season now and you can make this delicious recipe with it. In some countries, white asparagus only grows during spring time and its peak season usually lasts for a couple months.
In contrast to ordinary green asparagus, white asparagus has a milder and more delicate flavor, it is juicy and sweet and is often served in a white sauce. Being the most sought after of asparagus means that it isn’t cheap at farmer’s markets, but no matter-it’s well worth it for such a superb dish, and black truffle oil is absolutely appropriate.
As a complement to the asparagus, this dish can be characterized by subtle flavors that are not overpowering— if you’re looking to make an elegant meal for guests or just need some simple food to cook for yourself, this recipe has you covered.
