Brussel sprout is a leafy vegetable belonging to the family of Brassicaceae. It has small green flowers producing green or purple cruciferous vegetables consisting of miniature cabbages. Brussels sprouts are popular in India, Japan, North America and Europe. They have several health benefits due to their high vitamin C content. The nutritional value of Brussels sprouts makes them a contender as one of the healthiest vegetables around!
In the first step, heat the fryer to 375ºF. Then cut 1 pound of Brussels sprouts in half. Take a bowl, add 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1/2 teaspoon salt, and mix thoroughly and together with cabbage.
Add the Brussels sprouts to the air fryer and shake into a single layer. Air fry, stopping to shake the basket about halfway through, for 15 minutes total. Meanwhile, prepare the shallot butter.
1 medium shallots finely chopped. Place 2 tablespoons unsalted butter in a sized bowl. Make sure the bowl is microwave-safe and melt in it. Alternatively, melt in a medium saucepan over low heat, then remove from heat. Next, add the shallots and 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar and mix thoroughly.
When the Brussels sprouts are ready, transfer into the bowl or saucepan with the shallot butter and toss to combine.
All veggies in the air-fryer are so good – thanks to the super-hot circulating air, they’re sweeter, crunchier. Brussel sprouts may be the perfect veggie to cook in the air fryer. Their insides become tender while their outsides crisp to perfection.
